Quality
is something we take very seriously at w&c.
At w&c we believe pieces should be passed down through generations. We want our customers to be knowledgeable on
how/what their pieces are made of, that is why we have product explanations
beside each piece. w&c believes there is another movement in the works: people want/should be
educated on what they are buying and placing in their home.
w&c
has joined the environmental movement, working hard to make every piece green. The best place to conserve and protect our environment is in our own
home.
Wood furniture quality;
w&c’s wood furniture collection is locally handcrafted out of FSC certified formaldehyde-free,
solids and hardwoods which is often mixed with Leed certified
veneer core or decorative hardwood plywood, to create a
durable and appealing product. Our wood and veneers are purchased from mills
that follow the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) policies and standards or
other nonprofits organizations that oversee the conservation, Leed certified/approved. Our finishing process
is one of multi-steps resulting in an attractive, smooth, durable product. You
can be assured that care and attention have been paid to detail. All finishes are
environmentally friendly, meaning that all stains/paints are water based. By choosing
to shop locally we are cutting back on our carbon foot print and insuring a
stronger local economy.
Upholstery Chairs quality;
All chair frames are handcrafted using only solid hand selected kiln
dried maple, built for lasting durability. All corners and joints are double doweled,
blocked, stapled, glued and
screwed for superior
strength. This style of construction provides superior strength
to every chair frame produced. The upholstery process, is a multi step of layers using Hemp, Jute, BiOH
polyol foam, and No-Sag springs with hand webbed supports. The multi layers
create excellent support to all area's
of the chair. Our
eco-friendly foam, Cargill BiOh polyol, replaces 20% of the petroleum-based
ingredients with a renewable soy-based BiOH polyol. The fibers are 80%
regenerated fibers which consist of virgin fibers and waste fibers that are
added with a binder fiber. "For
every 1 million lbs of BiOH polyols that replace traditional petro polyols in
foam cushioning, approximately 2200 barrels of crude petroleum is saved for
other uses. 36% less global warming emissions -61% less non-renewable energy
use, 23% less total energy demand."
Fabric quality;
All fabrics are environmentally friendly and certified by
"Oeko-Tex 100 Standards" - this label assures that textiles which
have been tested and awarded a certificate are free of harmful substance. Fabrics
are manufactured using recyced or other environmentally friendly components. Endurance
enhanced durability and washable.
Environmental Friendly;
w&c has joined the environmental movement, working hard
to make every piece green. The best place to conserve and protect our environment
is in our own home. w&c’s “furniture” is produced locally, lowering our carbon
footprint and engineering a stronger local economy. Having our manufactures
locally, w&c is able to regulate the process/procedure of our fine
furniture. By using eco-friendly paints/stains, glues, and being formaldehyde free, we only buy our wood material from FSC
mills or Leed certified, eco-friendly BiOH foam and regulated
fabrics are used within our furniture. There’s no plastic or cardboard to get rid of – we even went eco-friendly
with our delivery on our larger pieces All products
are hand wrapped with moving blankets and placed in the home with no extra
waste. (depending on shipping location/country).
w&c takes pride
in being involved in the green movement and we are constantly striving to make
our products more environmentally friendly.
